Our Fifth Season!

After a relaxing Summer break and a rigorous Fall rehearsal season, we have completed our Christmas Season concerts.  In addition to several performances of traditional Christmas music, we performed the "Messiah" Sing-Along with the Old Bridge Chamber Music Orchestra and the Old Dominion Choraleers.

In March we serenaded the residents of Westminster at Lake Ridge with a beautiful collection of love songs that reached back in time to the days of our youth.  Everyone seemed to enjoy the music and the memories the songs recalled.

We have several special events planned that we hope you will also enjoy.  We will be performing at the Prince William County Arts Council's "Arts Alive" Festival.  Those of you who are attending that event may experience a surprise while roaming the outdoor performance areas.  You heard it first here, but I'll keep the details sparce so as to not spoil the surprise.  Suffice it to say, it will be a delight for all - including you, so plan on attending!

That's all for now.  Check the column on the right for times and locations.

Check back often, we'll have more news to share...

We hope you had a very Merry Christmas

Well, our Christmas performing season has come to a close, but there's plenty more music to come after the new year.

We began with our traditional Christmas concert at Epiphany.  Some Sacred Music, a few Christmas carols, and a wonderfully receptive audience made for a very enjoyable evening.  Unfortunately our performance at Westminster had to be cancelled due to inclement weather, but we are hoping to provide a make-up concert sometime this year.  See the "Sights" tab for pictures.

We were also honored to be asked to perform at the Navy's Holiday party singing a selection of Christmas Carols for those hard working servicemen and civilians.  Despite (or perhaps because of) the security checks and seeming miles of corridors, the concert was a joy to perform.  Again, check for pics.

Our final Christmas celebration offered Handel's Messiah performed with the Old Bridge Chamber Orchestra, first at Epiphany Lutheran Church and then again at Good Shephard Lutheran Church.  It was arguably the most moving performance we have had since the Celebration Singers began almost four years ago.

Check for pictures from the events under the "Sights" tab and you can see and hear the concert if you follow the YouTube link below.  Enjoy.

We hope you all had a joyous holiday season and are looking forward to a blessed and happy New Year.

The Singer's Choice Concert for 2013

As our final offering last season, we presented our

Singers' Choice Concert

June 14th at Epiphany Lutheran Church

Each year our members suggest their favorite music to our Creative Director, Terry Stackley.  As you might expect with a choir as diverse as ours, so too would be our music.  The selections that evening spanned the musical spectum from Sacred, Pop, Doo-Wap, Patriotic, and Country to just plain fun.  We hope there was something you loved but we are confident you enjoyed all you heard.  Visit the "Sights" page for pictures of this wonderful evening.

And so our 2012-2013 season has come to a rousing finish.  It has been a great year of growth for the Celebration Singers - in attendence, our charitable donations, and our musical repertoir.  We are looking forward to next year. Terry Stackley has some amazing music ready for us.

Join us for our concerts this 2013-2014 Season.  Now that arrangements and venues are locked in our schedule for the year has been posted to the right.

Don't forget to "like" our Facebook Page.  That's a great way of keeping in touch with us.  If you want to receive notification emails of our upcoming concerts, send us a comment on the comment page.  We'll add you to our list.

We look forward to seeing you at all our events.

An Evening of John Rutter's Music

After basking in the glorious music of Rutter's "Requiem," on May 7th, 2013 the Celebration Singers expanded our repertoir of his work and offered an entire evening of John Rutter's Music.  These selections showed the true diversity of his work and included original pieces such as "Let's Begin Again" and "Home is a Special Kind of Feeling" as well as arrangements that highlighted his unique style. These included "A Gaelic Blessing", "Amazing Grace" and  "The Lord Bless You and Keep You"  The concert also included two of our favorite selections from "Requiem".

Our thanks to all who attended and we hope to see you all on June 14 for our Singers' Choice Concert.

An Evening of John Rutter featuring Requiem

On Friday, March 1, 2012, the Celebration Singers presented “An Evening of John Rutter” featuring his contemporary work, REQUIEM, with guest soloist and 7 piece ensemble. The concert was presented to a packed house at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Dale City, VA.  Not only did our members thoroughly enjoy performing the piece, but the audience seemed to as well, providing a standing ovation following the work.

As always, this concert was free to the public.

Donations for supported charities and food for ACTS were gratefully accepted. For more information explore our website, CelebrationSingersVA.org or call 703-583-4422.
